The PRE-VN course is a 5-week class as an introductory program into the 48 week Vocational Nursing Program.  Topics include:  program requirements, legalities and ethics, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, dosage calculations, and nursing process.  Scores will be based on class participation, attendance, assignments, group work projects, individual presentation, exams, and interview.  HS or GED Diplomas/Transcripts will be collected in this class.  A livescan background check will be conducted on day TBA. The top 33 students will be invited to enter the VN program's Fundamentals of Nursing, weeks 1-5.

This course site is for the exclusive use of vocational nursing students.  It is access to practice study quizzes in preparation for exams administered throughout the program.  This is an optional, yet valuable resource to help the student self-evaluate their understanding of program content.  Be advised that some practice quizzes may have limitations on attempts and timing between each attempt.  Reviewing notes, reading the textbook, answering end of chapter questions, answering questions in the workbooks, and utilizing the e-resources are all important tools to help the student study.

This course site will serve as a resource to help in the successful completion of our program.  Students should visit this site at least twice per week to obtain current information regarding classroom and clinical content.  The DAS-VN program is approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).  This is a full-time, 48 week long program offering both theory and practical hands-on training necessary to become a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in the state of California.  Graduation from our program qualifies the student to apply for licensure by examination for the NCLEX-PN.
